Document Versions
FileSphere performs automatic versioning as you work
by applying major (e.g. 1.0, 2.0, 3.0) and minor versions (e.g. 0.1. 0.2,
1.1,1.2, 1.3...).
A new minor version is created each time a document is
edited and returned to its document space. A new major version is created when documents are Finalized
(published) and replaces the last minor version. This major version of the document remains as a
read only version and any changes you make to it will be saved under the
next minor version number.
Previous versions are read
only documents, which can
be opened; saved as new documents; and deleted/restored.
When a document is
opened it is placed in your workspace and editing and saving does not
increment the version number. A new file version is created only when
the document is returned to its document space.
