View Folder
View Folders, or virtual folders, are used in
FileSphere to sort and group documents with the same
classification. View Folders can be created in
Windows®
Explorer
and in the Open and Save dialog boxes of
Microsoft®
Office applications.
The benefit of View Folders is that they are
dynamic and you can create them and dissolve them without
affecting your documents. They allow you to classify,
view and
retrieve documents in the way that best suits the way in which
they work.
A special feature of View Folders is that
documents inherit the folder’s property
values. If you add a document to a View Folder
in a hierarchy of
folders, it will inherit the property
values of
all higher folders. This is a tremendous time saver because
rather than manually classifying documents, you can drag and drop
one or many documents into View Folders, automatically classifying
them as you go.
To
create View Folders:
With the
Document Space selected, click the View
By button q arrow or
right click on the Document
Space and select View
By from the menu
Select a
property from the menu
View
Folders will be displayed for each value
found for the selected property.
