 More about classification

One of the benefits of FileSphere is that it automatically classifies documents based on any existing embedded file properties. So if your Word document, for example, has file properties for Title, Subject, Author and Category, that may be all you need to classify the document.

However, if necessary, you can add further classification to your documents.

When you begin using FileSphere it’s only natural to to become preoccupied with how you are going to classify files and what properties should be in the schemas.

For the optimal FileSphere experience:

Do not try to map your existing Windows hierarchy of folders to a schema

Keep the number of properties you use for classification to an absolute minimum

Assign a value to as many properties as possible

Do not assign a value to a property that duplicates an existing value for another property

Existing embedded
file properties

Embedded properties become common properties
